Dangerous Goods

Passengers are not allowed to take items on board the aircraft that pose a risk to the health of other passengers, the crew and the safety of the aircraft and cargo.

Items prohibited on board flights
  • Explosives and incendiary substances (such as pyrotechnic articles).

  • Gases and gas cylinders (such as compressed gases, for example camping gas cylinders, oxygen, nitrogen, butane, insecticides, compressed air cylinders for diving or lighter refills).

  • Toxic, infectious or poisonous substances.

  • Radioactive material (such as pharmaceuticals or radioactive isotopes).

  • Corrosive substances (such as acids, mercury-containing devices, electric accumulators or car batteries).

  • Flammable liquids (such as petrol, paints, varnishes, turpentine, solvents, adhesives or alcohol).

  • Flammable solids and reactive substances (such as magnesium, charcoal, matches or tapers).

  • Liquid oxygen devices (such as electric shock weapons containing explosives or compressed gases).

  • Oxidants and organic peroxides (such as bleach, fertilisers or chlorates).

  • Other dangerous goods, such as DRY ICE (except if it does not exceed the permitted limit and always in the cabin), ferromagnetic material or fuel engines.

Items prohibited in the cabin
  • Pistols and firearms (such as pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns or toy guns).

  • Stun devices (such as stun guns and batons, tasers, pepper spray or tear gas).

  • Sharp objects or cutting edges (such as arrows, darts, harpoons, javelins, swords, sabres, cutting martial arts equipment, scissors, knives and any other sharp objects).

  • Working tools (such as crowbars, hammers, drills, saws, blow torches, radials and staple guns).

  • Blunt instruments (such as bats, golf clubs, batons, paddles, skateboards, fishing rods and martial arts equipment).

  • Explosive and incendiary substances and devices (such as ammunition, detonators, pyrotechnics and smoke-generating cartridges).

  • Perfumes, liquids, creams and medicines exceeding 100 ml, such as liquids, creams, perfumes and make-up.

Electronic equipment
  • Electronic devices

    Wherever possible, they should be carried in the cabin as hand luggage.

    Where this is not possible, they shall be transported in the hold, provided that it is ensured that:

    • It is completely switched off and protected from unintentional activation
    • Protected from any accidental damage
    • Prohibited from being carried in the hold if flammable materials (e.g. perfumes, aerosols, etc.) are contained in the luggage.
  • Smart suitcases

    They will only be accepted as checked or cabin luggage if the batteries can be removed. Batteries must travel in the cabin with the passenger, separate from the suitcase.

  • Hoveboard

  • Segway

  • Balance wheel

Prohibited in the hold
  • Electronic cigarettes

  • Powerbanks (chargers)

Accepted in the cabin
  • 2 spare batteries if 100Wh ≤ 160Wh.

  • 4 spare batteries if ≤100 Wh or 2 gr.

  • ≥160 Wh batteries PROHIBITED

If you want to carry a special item that is not on the list of dangerous goods or need to carry more than four spare/loose batteries of less than 100wh, please contact our Customer Services Centre.

It is strictly forbidden to carry in your hand luggage or checked luggage any other dangerous goods not described in the table. It is also forbidden to exceed the maximum quantities stated in our dangerous goods guide.

Please bear in mind that the list of items considered to be Dangerous Goods and Forbidden items to be carried as hold or hand baggage may change at any time due to changes to applicable legislation.
